Sharp Isoperimetric Inequalities via the Abp Method

چکیده
We prove some old and new isoperimetric inequalities with the best constant using the ABP method applied to an appropriate linear Neumann problem. More precisely, we obtain a new family of sharp isoperimetric inequalities with weights (also called densities) in open convex cones of R. Our result applies to all nonnegative homogeneous weights satisfying a concavity condition in the cone. Remarkably, Euclidean balls centered at the origin (intersected with the cone) minimize the weighted isoperimetric quotient, even if all our weights are nonradial —except for the constant ones. We also study the anisotropic isoperimetric problem in convex cones for the same class of weights. We prove that the Wulff shape (intersected with the cone) minimizes the anisotropic weighted perimeter under the weighted volume constraint. As a particular case of our results, we give new proofs of two classical results: the Wulff inequality and the isoperimetric inequality in convex cones of Lions and Pacella.

Sharp integral inequalities for harmonic functions
Motivated by Carleman’s proof of isoperimetric inequality in the plane, we study some sharp integral inequalities for harmonic functions on the upper halfspace. We also derive the regularity for nonnegative solutions of the associated integral system and some Liouville type theorems.
متن کاملSome Methods for Studying Stability in Isoperimetric Type Problems
We review the method of quantitative symmetrization inequalities introduced in Fusco, Maggi and Pratelli, “The sharp quantitative isoperimetric inequality”, Ann. of Math. Introduction Our aim is to introduce certain ideas related to the quantitative study of isoperimetric type inequalities. The main efforts are devoted to the proof of a sharp quantitative version of the Euclidean isoperimetric ...

We introduce new affine invariants for smooth convex bodies. Some sharp affine isoperimetric inequalities are established for the new invariants.
متن کاملA Mass Transportation Approach to Quantitative Isoperimetric Inequalities
A sharp quantitative version of the anisotropic isoperimetric inequality is established, corresponding to a stability estimate for the Wulff shape of a given surface tension energy. This is achieved by exploiting mass transportation theory, especially Gromov’s proof of the isoperimetric inequality and the Brenier-McCann Theorem. A sharp quantitative version of the Brunn-Minkowski inequality for...
